How to install uCMS?
uCMS requires a Web server that meets the following criteria:
- PHP 5
- MySQL 5
- GD library
- mail() function activated (password sending if forgotten and "contact" module)
You have the choice between several webhosters, help you with this test if you have no one yet, but you can also use a local web server (like wampServer or EasyPHP).
Preparing installation
Once you find a Web server that meets the criteria required by uCMS, simply copy the contents of the uCMS archive in the installation folder you wish.
Then go to the /install folder, for example:
http://YOUR_DOMAIN/UCMS_FOLDER/install
1&1 and OVH specific aspects
To install uCMS on a 1&1 or OVH server, it is essential to uncomment the lines corresponding to one or other of these webhosters in the .htaccess file before and after installation (this process recreate a .htaccess file with these lines once again commented).
First step
The first step is made to identify the criteria required by uCMS, listed above.
You can click on one of the flags to change the installation language (which will become the default language of your site running with uCMS).
Then click the button "Step 2".
Second step
Create a database as shown in this page. Then enter the information of the database you just created in the form then click the button "Step 3".
Third step
This step allows you to specify the initial configuration settings that you want to use (including the username, the password and the eMail address of the administrator).
Then click the button "Step 4".
Fourth step
It'll just to delete the /install folder and to rename the /admin folder to something else (for security reasons).
To access the administration interface, go into the administration folder previously renamed and indicate the username and the password you chose for the administrator.
